Online Therapy for Women in Chicago, Orland Park, and Across Illinois
“Patriarchy has no gender” —Bell Hooks
Who Am I?
Hi, I’m Summer (she/her), a therapist who helps young adults and adults feel more grounded, confident, and emotionally free.
I believe every woman deserves a space where she feels truly seen, heard, and supported—especially during life’s hardest moments.
If you’re carrying the weight of anxiety, trauma, or self-doubt, you don’t have to keep doing it alone. I work with women—especially Black and Brown women—who are ready to stop surviving and start healing.
Therapy with me is a space to take the mask off, breathe deeper, and reconnect with yourself. You’re in the right place.
Meet Summer
I Love Working With:
Women navigating anxiety, self-doubt, and perfectionism
Individuals healing from trauma and past pain
People struggling with relationship challenges and attachment wounds
Black and Brown women processing cultural and generational trauma
Those working through body image struggles and self-acceptance
Anyone feeling emotionally exhausted and ready for change
I specialize in creating a compassionate, affirming space where you can unpack your experiences, let go of what no longer serves you, and build a life that feels more aligned and fulfilling.
What You Can Expect
My role is to walk alongside you—offering compassion, clarity, and tools that help you trust yourself again, feel more at ease in your body, and move forward with confidence.
Taking the first step is never easy, but it matters. And you’re in the right place.
You deserve support that sees your full story—not just where you’ve been, but where you’re going. My approach is warm, culturally affirming, and personalized to fit who you are and what you need to heal.
What Therapy Looks Like With Me
Therapy isn’t just talking—it’s healing. My clients often come to therapy feeling emotionally exhausted and unsure of how to move forward.
Together, we’ll unpack what’s weighing you down and explore new ways to feel stronger, lighter, and more connected to yourself.
You can expect:
A safe, judgment-free space to show up as your full self
Culturally sensitive and trauma-informed support
Personalized care based on your lived experience
Practical tools to manage overwhelm, anxiety, and emotional burnout
How I Help
I use a holistic and trauma-informed approach, incorporating:
Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) – Helping you challenge unhelpful thoughts and build confidence
Mindfulness & Self-Compassion Techniques – Learning how to calm your mind and be kinder to yourself
Relational Therapy – Understanding how past experiences shape current relationships
Narrative Therapy – Rewriting the stories you tell yourself about your worth and healing
You don’t have to carry everything alone. Therapy is a space where you can lay it all down and start healing in a way that feels right for you.
What It’s Like in Session With Me
Therapy with me is a conversation—one where you feel safe, supported, and free to be yourself. But it’s also a space where I’ll gently challenge you to look at the thoughts, beliefs, and patterns that may no longer be serving you. Growth isn’t always comfortable, but it’s always worth it.
A session with me often starts with a check-in, like catching up with a trusted friend, before diving into what’s on your mind.
I’ll ask thought-provoking questions, offer a new perspective, and encourage you to step outside of your comfort zone. You might hear me say, “Is that thought really true?” or “What if we looked at this another way?”
We’ll explore your experiences, uncover patterns, and work through challenges with compassion, honesty, and a little bit of humor.
Healing doesn’t always have to feel heavy—sometimes, laughter is part of the process too.
Together, we’ll create a space where you feel empowered to challenge old narratives, build confidence, and move toward the life you want—one where you feel safe, supported, and free to be yourself.
“You don’t have to carry it all alone. Healing is possible, and you deserve to feel seen, heard, and supported.”
Why I’m Passionate About This Work
I do this work because I believe every woman—especially Black and Brown women—deserves a place to feel seen, supported, and valued.
We live in a world that expects women to be strong all the time, to carry everyone else’s burdens, and to silence their own pain. But I’m here to remind you:
You deserve care, too.
I want therapy to be a space where you can take off the mask, let go of unrealistic expectations, and finally breathe. Healing isn’t about becoming someone new—it’s about reconnecting with who you were before the world told you who to be.
More About Me
I’m a big fan of humor—it’s my go-to for relaxing and unwinding. Whether I’m watching something funny, joking around with friends, or just finding the lighter side of things, it helps me stay grounded and not take life too seriously when everything feels like a lot. On any given day, you’ll probably find me curled up on my couch binge-watching Netflix or diving into a good book.
